Benefits That Go Beyond the Mat
Okay, let’s talk about what you’re REALLY going to get out of this program (besides a fancy certificate to hang on your wall!):
- Personal Transformation
I’ve seen it happen time and time again – students come for yoga and leave with so much more. You might come to learn about downward dogs, but you’ll leave understanding yourself better. One of our previous students, Lisa, said she discovered strength she never knew she had – both on and off the mat! - A New Perspective on Life
There’s something magical about stepping away from your regular life for a while. In Bali, surrounded by nature and like-minded people, you start seeing things differently. The daily rush and stress that seemed so important? They just… melt away. - Lifelong Friendships
The bonds you form during teacher training are something special. When you’re practising, learning, sometimes struggling (and occasionally crying!) together, you create connections that last a lifetime. Many of our graduates still meet up years later! - Opportunities for professional advancement
Getting a yoga teaching certification has the potential to provide many opportunities for individuals seeking a career change or a boost in earnings. Who wouldn’t be excited about earning money while pursuing their passion? - Enhanced Knowledge of Your Physical Being
You will gain a lot of knowledge about the structure of the body and how it functions. All of a sudden, you’ll realise the reason behind your tight hip or why your shoulders pop in the morning. It’s similar to receiving a user guide for your own body! - Boost in self-assurance
Facing a classroom can be intimidating initially (believe me, I understand!). However, by the conclusion of the training, you will not only feel confident in teaching but also in various aspects of your life. Learning to lead others through yoga can boost your overall confidence in a remarkable way.
Different Types of Yoga You'll Learn
Hatha Yoga
Do you know where all the yoga types originated? It was from Hatha yoga. It is like… the grandmother of all yoga styles! It includes all the basics of yoga – holding poses, breathing right, and finding your balance. It’s not as fast and intense as other yoga styles, which makes it perfect for beginners(people who started learning yoga). In this, you’ll learn how to align your body properly and build a strong foundation. Trust me, getting these basics right will make you a way better teacher!
In our Hatha classes, we’ll break down each pose in detail. You’ll learn:
- Proper alignment for safety and effectiveness
- How to use props to support different body types
- The benefits and contraindications of each pose
- How to sequence a well-balanced Hatha class
Vinyasa Yoga
- Creating seamless transitions between poses
- Building creative and balanced sequences
- Using music effectively in class
- Modifying flows for different levels
Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga yoga is a bit more intense than all other forms. It follows a specific sequence of poses and always in the same order. Many people find it a bit challenging, but don’t worry – we’ll teach you everything step by step. Learning Ashtanga will really boost your personal practice and give you tons of confidence as a teacher. Plus, it’s impressive to have on your yoga resume!
You’ll learn:
- The traditional Ashtanga sequence
- How to teach Mysore-style classes
- Proper vinyasa count and Sanskrit names
- Safe adjustment techniques
Meditation
Meditation isn’t exactly a yoga style, but it’s SUPER important! We’ll teach you different meditation techniques. Some of it includes simple breathing exercises and mantras chantings. You might find it challenging to sit still at first (I know I did!), but by the end, you’ll be amazed at how much calmer and focused you feel.
We cover various meditation styles:
- Mindfulness meditation
- Loving-kindness meditation
- Mantra meditation
- Walking meditation
Pranayama
This is entirely focused on managing your breath. Despite appearances, it is actually very impressive! We will demonstrate various breathing methods to enhance your energy, calm you down, or enhance your focus. At first, some practices might appear odd (like alternating single-nostril breathing), but as you grow accustomed to them, you will start to appreciate them. Your future students will also feel the same way!
You’ll learn pranayama techniques like:
- Ujjayi
- Nadi Shodhana
- Kapalabhati
- Bhramari
What Can You Do After Getting Certified?
So, you’ve completed your 200 hours – what next? Well, the yoga world becomes your oyster! Here are some exciting paths you could take:
- Start Teaching Right Away You could begin teaching at yoga studios, gyms, or even start your own classes. Many of our graduates start with small group classes or private sessions to build confidence. One of our students, Sarah, began teaching at her local community centre and now has a full schedule of devoted students!
- Specialize Further Maybe during your training, you discovered you really love a specific aspect of yoga. You could dive deeper into specialised training for kids yoga, prenatal yoga, or even yoga therapy. The 200-hour certification is like your yoga passport – it opens doors to so many possibilities!
- Online Teaching With the world going digital, many yogis are teaching online. You could start a YouTube channel, create online courses, or offer live virtual classes. One of our graduates, Mike (who was super nervous about teaching at first!), now has a successful online yoga business with students from all over the world.
- Retreat Centers and Hotels Many hotels and retreat centres hire yoga teachers for their wellness programs. Imagine teaching yoga in beautiful locations around the world! (Though honestly, it might be hard to find somewhere more beautiful than Bali!)
- Corporate Yoga Lots of companies are now offering yoga classes to their employees. You could become a corporate yoga teacher, helping stressed-out office workers find some peace in their busy days. The pay is usually pretty good too!
